Below are resources from the 2nd PD session held on March 19th.


What Happened on Your Birthday (Year)- a fun webiste that tells you information about a specific year.

Guess Your Number Game and Magic Gopher- two fun applications to keep you guessing and wondering "How did they do that?"

Make A Word- an online word game that asks you to make individual words from one word. Does now have ads- which is disappointing!

Writing For Math Class- a site dedicated to inspiring writing activities in math class (grades K-High School).

Prezi- a fun, interactive presentation application. Click here to view my example and here for the Quick Start Guide.

Little Bird Tales- a free site that allows students to create AND record stories from their own artwork or images. Does require an email when registering for an account. An image must be a minimum size of 640 x 480. Appplication does offer an online art pad for studnets to use.

Zoo Burst- a fun application that allows you to create 3D Pop Up Stories.Free Account allows you to create 10 books with 10 pages.
You can purchase a teacher account with more features such as a classroom account, voice recording, etc.-- $49.99 per year. Multiple users (5 or more) reduces the price to $29.99 per year.

Khan Academy- over 2,100 videos that covers K-12 math, science topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics. "Each video is a digestible chunk, approximately 10 minutes long, and especially purposed for viewing on the computer." You need a Google or Facebook account to sign-up for this application. It is FREE and will allow you to be a "coach" and track progress of your students. This is a site well worth a look!!!! Click here to view a TED video of Mr. Khan talking about reinventing education.
